Happy Holidays! - Lots of news...

Happy holidays everyone, we have lots of awesome news!

Screaming Females got a really cool full page picture in this months Spin. You can see it here. Power Move, is also making lots of year-end, best-of, lists including Impose, NPR's Sound Opinions, Flavorwire, Chicago Tribune, Boston Harold, cokemachineglow, and NJ.com. If you don't have it yet, get it, and if you want more, we're releasing a CDEP collecting their vinyl-only singles, aptly titled Singles, on Feburary 9th.

Shellshag are also releasing a monster of an album on February 9th titled Rumors In Disguise. You can hear a song off it, Resilient Bastard, on their myspace.

Black Wine's self titled debut LP is delayed by a week due to problems at the pressing plant and should be shipping very early in the new year. We apologize for anyone who ordered who may have to wait a little bit longer, I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Finally, if you don't have a ticket for our showcase at the Bowery Ballroom yet, get one now. Shellshag and Screaming Females will have their new records there for the first time anywhere, and Black Wine will have their freshly released LP. In the history of rock music, there have been exactly zero even tolerable covers of "Cortez the Killer," so please understand how improbable it is that New Brunswick, New Jersey's Screaming Females are now offering a stupendous version of the Neil Young weeper on their MySpace page, sped up and imbued with a menacing, bizarrely erotic swagger. The shred-punk trio's not-even-remotely-secret weapon? Singer/guitarist Marissa Pasternoster, a very tiny (onstage, she's barely visible over the heads of the folks in the front row), very mysterious (her eyes are all but obscured by her mop-top hairdo), and very loud (she shrieks like a demonic anime hellion) tornado of pure, uncut awesomeness who howls through songs called "I Believe in Evil" and "Buried in the Nude" before blasting off into dizzying, dazzling shredmaster guitar solos, terse and ludicrous and awe-inspiring. The Females recently toured with the Dead Weather; no idea how Jack White had the balls to even walk out onstage after Pasternoster was done with it, or how there was still a stage left at all. We are very excited to announce the signing of Shellshag, who will be recording a brand new album towards the end of the year for a February 2010 release date. The album is a followup to their self-released(and sold out) Destroy Me, I'm Yours LP. In August they will be touring the west coast with Screaming Females(dates below). For those unfamiliar, Shellshag are a live show not to be missed that has garnered rave reviews ranging from Pitchfork, to MTV and everything in between. Showcase Tonight - SOLD OUT

Our annual showcase is tonight, and we just got word that it's sold out. If you don't have a ticket, don't get discouraged. There are often tickets released at the door throughout the night as people leave early/don't show up.

Tonight's show will be a record release show for Pregnant's "Wanna See My Gun?" 7" as well as The Groucho Marxists "Manifesto!" LP. We will also have recently repressed versions of The Measure (SA) "Songs About People...And Fruit N' Shit" 12" EP and The Ergs "That's It...Bye" 12" Single.
